Tonight I saw Where The Wild Things Are thanks to a free ticket from triple j, I really enjoyed it although it made me feel a little melancholy. That's not a bad thing, and the wild things were pretty gorgeous!
Plus how lovely are these necklaces from Wonder Wonder, so beautiful.

the warm weather
lisa mitchell’s clean white love (the cutest film clip, and it feels summery)
simple pale pink post it notes, I think I’ve written a dozen to do lists on them
the anticipation of a few little things arriving in my letterbox
Plus there is a house tour of my flat on decofabulous, thanks so much to Isabel, you can check it out here.

So to continue the christmas theme, recently I've been searching etsy on a regular basis for vintage baubles. I have become quite fascinated by them, my plain mercury glass baubles are on their way but I would rather love a few unique ones like the ones above, they are all from etsy seller Emily Lynch. Aren't they pretty!

Finally I woke up early enough to go visit our new Hobart farmer's market (although not early enough for strawberries, they'd already sold out!). I was happy to see the beautiful peonies and the apple paste was a nice alternative to quince.
The christmas craft has yet to eventuate due to a screening of a certain film yesterday, which afterwards naturally required a debrief and drink. But it's a rainy afternoon and I'm feeling the pull of the glitter!
Hope you're having a lovely weekend too.

Goodbye week from hell, hello weekend!
Some weeks just aren't good and this was one of them....
but I'm going to make up for it this weekend with a revived enthusiasm for christmas craft, a new batch of strawberry jam and whatever else comes my way!
By the way how sweet is this tea towel from Third Drawer Down

I know two posts in one evening....there's something not right ; )
but I couldn't not share these paper ornaments from essimar, so beautiful.
There goes my self imposed rule of no christmas posts until december... no one minds do they?!
I've reached that count down stage. Today I sat at work looking at my calendar finding various different ways of making the time till the end of the year seem sooner than it really is. I'm a bit burnt out, it's been a big year of stress, and I'm done with it all now.
So I've been trying to make sure things at home are pretty and inspiring to keep me going that little bit longer, lots of new books (Donna Hay's Seasons - such great styling, and Cupcakes from the Primrose Bakery in London - very good cake!), christmas magazines and a new print (that I'm so glad is available again as I missed out the first time).
PS when I load my photo's onto blogger they seem to come out at a much poorer quality...does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

I think I’m like that bird that is attracted to and collects blue (a bower bird?) except with me it’s green! Here's a picture of my green chair I painted the other week. It's still too bright for my liking, so maybe one day I will fix it! I made the cushion for it last night out of some cath kidston fabric and I think the stoney-brown helps a little...

Today I've had a very blah day so it feels appropriate to post something pretty and frivolous! More specifically these mimco headbands, I've been lusting after one for a while, they are all so sweet. The top two are my favourites.....I think, but the brown one is good too! I already have a pretty blue one floating around somewhere in my flat but I’m stuffed if I can find it! Don’t you hate that when you lose something like that.
I can’t believe it is November already, the end of the year feels so close! Actually I’m quite pleased, this means I can start thinking about christmas and summer holidays, I just have to get through the madness that will be work over the next few weeks!
I painted my chair on the weekend but the green I picked ended up being completely disappointingly wrong (waaaaay too bright) so I think I’ll try again. Apart from painting I made Jamie Oliver’s sparkling fruit jelly, which was pretty boozy but very good, had a bit of a laugh playing DJ Hero, and listened to the new Swell Season album (which I’m not convinced about just yet, but it might need some more time).
Hope you had a lovely weekend too!
