Heading Off

Eeep! Tomorrow I am heading off to the complete other side of the world, am I ready for this …. umm nope but I am excited! It seems to have crept up so soon, I thought I’d have time for lots of research and know exactly want I wanted to do. Instead it’s going to be a bit more free form and actually that’s a very good thing. My cities of choice are Paris, Barcelona, Stockholm, Reykjavik and London. Perhaps I might post a little along the way, I’ll see how it goes, but if not see you on the other side!

In the meantime here are a few links:
· I’m sure by now everyone has seen that Lucy over at The Design Files is doing a special week celebrating Tasmania! Very exciting to see our little town on there. I might have got to help out in a small way (thanks so much Lucy!) so please go visit!
· My friend Rose has started a blog Island Highland, she is in the process of doing some serious house renovations but also plans to share some photographs from her travels around our island state too.
· And just because I think her work is amazing and love her use of colour, the Essimar blog, makes me want to order even more Japanese tape!

Great choice of cities...Hope I'm not too late with some recommendations? I think you might like these cute spots:

London: Rosie's Deli Cafe in the Brixton Markets (14e Market Row)...cheery hellos, famous egg brekkies, cakes in the window and a warm cinnamon bun and a pot of tea for 3 quid....plus anywhere on Columbia Road.

Barcelona: someone had recommended the tapas bar, Inopia, to us but we turned up and the line was down the street...ended up in a great little gin bar opposite...so if you like a good g&t and a tiled teeny bar with atmosphere head to XIX Bar (19 Carrer de Rocafort).

Stockholm: Gilda's cafe (79 Skanegatan)...tea in oversized china cups, peonies in coloured glass vases and delicious food.

Looking forward to hearing about the great places you discovered!
