My first gingerbread house...

and possibly the last due to the time it too and nerve wracking moments (dough not rolling out properly, construction)! I have wanted to make one for years, and then last year the Gourmet Traveller mag had the most amazing one on the cover and I knew this year would be the year. I was going for their same elegance and minimalist design but then kinda went crazy, plus my piping skills need some work. I'd like to say it was fun but it was so-so, I am really happy with the final result though.

It looks beautiful Catherine. I didn't make one this year and sort of missed it. I was watching Chocywokydoodah on tv and they were making big crazy chocolate ones which were amazing. I'd like to try that one day.
I think the icing key is to have it super gluey to stick it all together and then runnier to do the decorating?

Stunning Catherine, I can see there is so much work in all of that! Every year I threaten to make one but I haven't had the patience yet...next year maybe.
