Wedding

So finally here are some pictures of the work we did to decorate the shed for my cousin’s wedding! Sadly my camera seems to be having some focusing issues at the moment (apparently this is common with the cannon 450D…not happy!) so I didn’t get as many decent shots as I would have liked, but still…

Where to start…we made lots of large cream tissue paper pom poms and hung them from the rafters along with white Japanese lanterns, (hanging these was an experience that involved climbing into a cage that was lifted up on the fork lift, slightly scary!)

For the table settings we made individual mini pom poms with name tags attached to each, we had so many lovely tulips to work with but kept the table arrangements simple to allow for bottles. We hung some white fabric behind the bridal table with a string of fairy lights and also some bunting down near the dance floor (I didn't get a shot of that). Amelia painted the direction signs and I think they were my favourite, oh and we had some other flower arrangements around the place.

I'm afraid my photographs don't quite give the full picture, but I have to say I had the best few days being out of an office and in the fresh air walking around in gumboots/wellington. I even rather enjoyed having to clean all the chairs!

Beautiful! You guys did a great job. All those mini pom poms! And those flowers. So perfect.

Sadly you're the second person this week I've come across with Canon focus issues. I hope it sorts itself out.

It looks gorgeous! Perfect, really.
I have a canon powershot that is having focusing issues too....total bummer.

Wonderful use of paper lanterns. I just got married and we hung paper lanterns from a gazebo to a nearby building. The guests also used parasols to stay out of the sun. Using paper lanterns was an inexpensive way to decorate for our wedding.

Wow Catherine! What a gorgeous venue - you guys did a fantastic job decorating the little shed - I can imagine hanging those pom-poms would have been scary as that ceiling looks pretty high!! The lanterns and pom-poms give such a beautiful effect and I love the individual ones you made. Flowers all look gorgeous too and I love the signs Amelia made - such a nice touch. I didn't take many photos from our cousin's wedding on Saturday as I was too busy having such a good time!! :) Will have to get hold of some shots others took. Glad you had a nice few days away from the office :)

Well done, it looks fabulous. Great effort on hanging those lanterns, (that little cage sounds full on) stellar effort! Hmm, I really love those plastic chairs - very cool.

The pom poms are absoutely gorgeous. I've seen a tutorial for them the Martha Stewart site but have never got around to making some! I can only imagine what a timely exercise it must have been for you... but wow, what an effect!
