I cannot believe that today is the first day of December, summer!! At least this morning felt like summer, even though it has now turned grey and is threatening rain. I feel like I have been in a big fog the last few weeks, and probably longer if I really think about it. I think I wrote a few times before about feeling so very tired. I just assumed it was having a baby and breastfeeding, but it turns out I have low iron levels and a thyroid problem. I have been taking iron supplements for a few weeks now and the energy is coming back (I even had dinner done and dusted by 10am this morning - lasagne to try and add a bit more red meat to my diet, I'm not much of a fan of it), the thyroid thing is still ongoing and will probably need a few more blood tests to get to the bottom of it. But it is so much better to know and to have a reason for feeling the way I was.

Unlike most, we have a quiet December planned, and I am looking forward to it. I'd like to get a tree but I know that that is just asking for trouble with Elroy as mobile and curious as he is. So I'm trying to work a way around that, a good excuse for some crappy christmas craft!!

It is good that you found an underlying cause of your tiredness. It is really easy just to chalk things up to having a young baby to look after (which in itself can be exhausting).

When my babes were littler we had a smaller tree on a table in a corner, sometimes with a playpen around it for added security :)
