This weekend...

In winter you really do live for the weekends, I'm noticing it more and more lately. This one was a good one, I went out on a boat on the Derwent for the second time this week. Quite unusual, but something that should be done more often. The first time was on thursday night for a work thing, something called the economist challenge, essentially a drinking competition and no I am most definitely not an economist! We saw dolphins, it was kinda cool. Then on saturday we celebrated a friend's 30th birthday and went out to mona. I'm undecided about what to think of it all, but I had been excited to see the Basquiat work and I wasn't disappointed in that. You can read more about our trip to mona on Island Menu tomorrow, but for now I'm going to call it an early night, read and listen to wilco.

i'd love to here more of your thoughts (once formed!) on MONA. as you know it blew us away. but we had just emerged from baby hibernation so you can't trust us! i went thinking i would hate it. but left loving it. it would be interesting to have a local persons perspective!!!

Summerteeth is one album I could never ever be without. Jeff Tweedy has the voice of a gruff angel.

I've left you a seven things whatsit on my blog. You needn't play along if it isn't your thing - it is just a compliment on your radness!

I'm so glad you got out to Mona. I know what you mean about being unsure at what to make if it. Sounds like a nice trip on the ferry though. Your cake on island menu looks delish- I like the deccys on it too, would you believe I made some of those last week as well :)
Ps I hope you get your 5D and by then hopefully I have some savings and might be able to adopt yours. I'd be pretty happy with any sort I think :)
