This weekend

Some pictures from around the house. I don't think I've shared my bedroom mantle before, and the flowers on my table are still going strong from last weekends mother's day lunch.

I think I could do with one more day this weekend....oh well!

Sorry for being so sporadic around here at the moment, I really did intend to post last night but it was cold and I watched masterchef and then Juno was on tv after that (haven't see that since it was on at the cinema, I'd forgotten how good it is). Pathetic excuse I know.

Anyway I've been thinking a lot about my photo's and how I feel a bit stuck and boring, so I've been spending some time on flickr for inspiration, the above are some of my current favourites. What do you do when you need inspiration?

Catching Up

Wow, sorry for my absence from this space, it feels like ages since I posted something. Last week I was feeling a bit under the weather (sinus and allergy stuff) but I’m feeling a bit better now and finally got some news that I’ve been waiting to hear, my job has been made permanent!

I’ve been in such a constant state of worry for the past year about end of contracts and possible early finish dates that I didn’t think it would actually happen. But it has and now I can make plans and take holidays, I’m quite excited.

So my weekend was good one, a bottle of verve clicquot to celebrate, and then mother’s day lunch yesterday!
I hope you had a good one too.

On a Tuesday

Today:
* I struggled to get out of bed this morning, I could have slept so much longer
* I’ve had Paul Simon’s 50 ways to leave your lover stuck in my head (thanks to my brother who picked me up last week with paul simon blearing in the car)
* I’m enjoying autumn fruit, pears and apple are so good
* I watched the sky turn black at 3pm and then the rain pour down

Blue Velvet

I am completely taken with this bedroom in the April InsideOut mag, I love its clean lines and lots of white, but mostly I love the blue velvet cushion! I definitely have a thing for blue velvet right now, luckily my mum has some old curtains she took down years ago but never got rid of, so I’m thinking some nice big cushions are in order…..!

This weekend

Thank you so much for your kind birthday wishes! I had a lovely evening out for dinner followed by a big chocolate cake made by my mum (so good) and was given some very nice pressies including a sheepskin for my desk chair, and the new angus and julia stone album.

I didn't mean to stay away so long from here but my internet crashed and I've only just got it back, also I can't believe the weekend is over already, it whizzed past! I hope everyone had a lovely one.
