Bentwood Chair

I really love the kitchen in the above picture from this months real living mag and it has inspired me to paint the bentwood chair I picked up from the tip shop for $5 ages ago as a project for the weekend. But I'm unsure about the colour, it will either be pale blue, mint green or a pink....maybe a stronger blue? Any ideas? The chair was sitting in my hall but recently I moved it to the kitchen table to mix up the rather boring chairs I purchased from officeworks (of all places!) when I first moved in. All colour suggestions fully appreciated!

Oh and happy Friday!

Interior Love

Today was a perfect spring day, one of those days where I spend a lot of time looking out my office window daydreaming! I love the images of the house above, so fresh and that pale blue is so pretty.

Time Out

It seems I took an unexpected mini blogging break while on my long weekend, but the quiet time away from the computer was needed. I had a highly unsuccessful trip to New Norfolk last Thursday and came home with a big fat nothing. I did see a really lovely French enamel cooking set that was gorgeous blue with white speckles but it was a little over my budget and also I have no where to put it.
Apart from that I’ve been reading, sewing and cooking, and yesterday indulged in pancakes for breakfast (I say breakfast, but who am I kidding, it was midday!) and flicked through the new Frankie. Now it’s back to reality, yay fun…

Extended Long Weekend

Hi there,

I hope you are having a lovely week. As of oh 3 hours ago my extended four day long weekend officially began and I’m very happy about it! I’m planning a little antique/thrifting trip tomorrow wishing the sun will come out, and hopefully there will be some treasures to find! In particular the elusive hatstand I am dreaming about, oh and maybe some nice vintage linens....fingers crossed!

These are two of my flickr favourites at the moment, I love them together:
1. make this fabric banner/ garland, 2. Untitled

Yum!

I made some frozen yoghurt icy poles/popsicles (depending on your part of the world) this weekend, I found the recipe here and used strawberries because are my absolute favourite (when they froze they turned a much brighter pink - so pretty). They are super tasty and worked really well, I think they may become a staple over summer.

Happy Friday

I’m feeling a little tired this Friday so the weekend couldn’t be coming at a better time. No big plans just reading my book, taking a proper look at the Frankie Photo Album, and maybe if I can be motivated make the bag that came with Sew! (seems to be book week around here).

Have a great weekend!

Bat for Lashes

I've been listening to Bat for Lashes a lot lately, she has a wonderful voice and it reminds me a lot of my dear favourite Bjork. Plus isn't Natasha Khan gorgeous, I love the headdress. What have you been listening to?

Pretty Orla

ummm so the complete last thing I need right now is more cushions BUT with the Aussie dollar so good against the pound I am very tempted by these beauties from Orla Kiely. How could I not be!

.....and while I'm killing the budget I also love this wallet and teacup purse. The interweb is a bad thing : )

This Weekend

The sun came out and it was soooo good. I always love my house when it's sunny.... it feels so peaceful.
Why is it weekends go so fast? I wish they wouldn't.

Happy Friday

Happy friday!
I'm most definitely looking forward to the weekend, a big sleep in, a movie, hopefully some crafting and a few new recipes to try out. Sounds good to me.

I am also happy because Ez from Creature Comforts is re-opening her Nice Package store and it looks like there are going to be some great new pieces. I can't wait to put my order in, those little doilies are on my must have list.

Have a great weekend

The Good Things

Hmm so much for lots of lovely things to share this week. Time has got away from me and work has been crazy busy - but that's far too boring to talk about here! Besides work this week I have been:

* excited about receiving my Cath Kidston package in the mail. Needless to say it was very indulgent and I will take some pics perhaps over the weekend
* listening to Animal by Miike Snow, it's some Swedish pop that's well and truly stuck in my head (also Treat Me Like Your Mother by the Dead Weather)
*coveting the Frankie photo album
* doing some re-arranging in my house, although I'm still not completely set on things the way they are
* stalking paint-by-numbers on etsy - I think I like this one best (above).

Pom Pom Vines

So it's no secret that I am a big fan of tissue paper pom poms and combine that with garlands....well it makes me pretty happy! How gorgeous are these pom pom vines from Rifle Design via here. They are definitely on my to-make list.

This Weekend

I've still been under the weather this past weekend, so things have been very quiet here to say the least! A little bit of garland making, way too many episodes of the Hills and a bit of reading. I'm on the mend now and have lots of pretty things I want to share with you this week.
