Shiny Bright Decorations

Two different shiny bright decorations for a Thursday of what feels like a very loooong grey week.

Firstly I posted these garlands on my tumblr but thought it would be nice to share them here too. It’s no secret I love garlands, these are such great colours (plus they make a shiny silver piƱata that I think is really rather cool). The second was in the third drawer down email today, faux helium balloons that don’t deflate. So clever!

Paint it Black

Earlier this year after some deliberation I decided to paint my bargain $5 bentwood chair green. For some reason it never felt right, the green I had in my mind was not the colour it turned out to be and the thought of sanding it back and starting again was all a bit much. So I sent it off to be professionally painted black and I really love the way it turned out! I guess sometimes it is worth spending a little more and getting the result you really want.

This weekend

This weekend was ozmus (christmas in july), I baked my very first bread, ate some wonderful food, had a lot of laughs and perhaps a little too much to drink : )
It was lots of fun, there's something to be said for celebrating christmas in winter!

Great British Food

I have been very taken with the Great British Food cook book ever since it arrived in my letterbox. It’s from the Canteen restaurants, and they look very cool, definitely on the to-visit list when (if!) I get to London. Anyway the book has wonderful simple everyday dishes and some great photography. I made the beef stew on the weekend with chedder and parsley dumplings and some eton mess (for desert), both got the big thumbs up.

I completely love this paper and ribbon from Angela Liguori. Those colours!

This weekend

It feels like a long time since I had a quiet weekend at home, so this weekend was perfect: lots of cooking, re-arranging little bits and pieces, some dvds and music and knitting in the sunshine. It feels as if spring is just around the corner and I can't wait. I hope you had a great weekend too.

Outside and Inside

Over the weekend it was better to stay inside than venture into the bleak outside. I listened to the new Foals album, it sounds like four different bands I love all in one, I kinda like it.

Angus

I love this boy, he definitely has his own way of doing things, including chasing a stick for twenty minutes in the back garden.

Indoor plants

Love lots of indoor plants. I want to do this but I'm worried, I always forget to water plants : )

Happy Friday

Some of my flickr favourites right now, I love the combination of green and grey together. Oh and I am sooo pleased it is friday, I plan to cook from my new book, take some pictures, visit the market, watch some dvds and keep working on my knitting.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Interior Love

Lately I’ve been experiencing a bit of the winter blues, I hate that I spend no daylight hours at home, that it’s cold and that I feel uninspired. So it was very pleasant to see Lotta’s house on design sponge, it’s light and cheerful, the flowers are bright and pretty, and it is everything that I am craving right now.
