Jerry

Recently Sarah of Mollys Maison and Martina of Six Black Dots (who's got a sparkly new blog!) asked me to share more pics of Jerry Springer Spaniel in all his puppy cuteness. I must point out that Jerry is actually my boyfriend Matt's dog, but still I get to hang out with him.

I also just wanted to let you know that it might to start looking a bit messy here on little glowing lights for a little while, I've been wanting to update the design of this space for ages and so my friend Sam has very kindly agreed to help out.

Catching Up

My apologies for being a slack blogger lately, it seems that cold/hayfever I had didn’t disappear rather it turned into a sinus infection and I’ve been feeling pretty blah. But I think I’m on the mend and looking forward to catching up on all the new posts and writing back to emails and getting my head back in this space. December tomorrow, can't quite believe that!

Big Week

This week I'm so excited because Sam and I are guest posting over on the Design Files for Island Menu one of my most favourite blogs ever.

I'm also excited cause DJ Shadow is live at the wireless on triple j tonight and he is seriously good, I wish I had made the decision to go to Melbourne to see him rather than dither around about it until it was too late! oh well.

Kinfolk

Have you seen Kinfolk Magazine yet? It has been out for a little while now and features some great stories on food and gathering with friends. I can’t wait for my paper copy to arrive (although I’m glad it didn’t turn up the past few days, my postman has a habit of leaving things out in the rain!). The journal is really great too and I was so excited to see a little post about Island Menu! Very kind words.

By the way thank you for all your kind words on my last post too, it seems what I'm writing about is ok, but I might do a little more on Hobart too : )

Your thoughts?

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, I think I have been at a bit of a loss as to what to actually blog about and photograph. What do you all like seeing/reading here most? I could set up one of those survey thingys but honestly I would just love your thoughts.

I’m sure the winter weather isn’t helping my inspiration much either, it’s just grey grey, with some crazy rain in the mix. I think I need to learn to embrace it....somehow.

Today is the day I can finally let you know about a project my friend Sam Shelley and I have been working on for a little while now...it’s called Island Menu and it is our food and photography blog!

I am really so excited about it and we hope to use as much Tasmanian produce as we can source or in Sam’s case (being an enthusiastic fisherman) catch, and we will do individual posts as well as working together.

I really hope you will stop by and take a look!

Colour

So here is part three of my photo collaboration with Jac. The theme for this round was colour, and I think Jac has taken the most amazing pictures showing this, the soft yellow tones with her fairy lights (which she always does so wonderfully well) and the deep blue with the rain droplets. I love the two of them together. Thanks Jac!

Unexpected Guest

Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet this week, work has been busy which tends to take up much of my brain space leaving not much left for blogging. However in exciting news I am an unexpected guest over on sfgirlbybay, so I hope you will stop by.

Victoria’s blog was one of the first I ever stumbled across and instantly fell in love with her amazing home and style, so I feel very honoured!

Recently I discovered Jane's blog, ill seen, ill said, I don't know how I had not stumbled across it sooner but it was one of those finds that had me reading the previous post for quite a long time. Lovely Things

I had the great pleasure of going to the post office yesterday to collect not one but two parcels. The first is the most beautiful little heart necklace made by Anna that I won in a very generous giveaway. It is really very lovely. Anna takes some great photographs so I hope you will visit her blog and shop. (Thank you so so much Anna!). My other parcel was the first of the 3191 Quarterly's, I love everything Stephanie and Mav do and this is wonderful!

Photo Collaboration

I am excited today to post about part two of my photo collaboration with Jac. You might remember we have a project going where we select a word and take some photographs to send each other reflecting that theme. Well this time around Jac selected the word ‘harmony’ and has sent me some incredibly lovely shots of her old tea cup and a daisy from her garden, and in her card explained that for her harmony is a combination of old and new. I think I'd have to agree with that! She also sent a cd with some old and new music that I plan on having a proper listen to tonight. I really love these photographs, they are lovely so I hope you enjoy them too!

Photo Collaboration

A little over a month ago Jac from Coco Sunday and I decided to work on a photo collaboration project, where we would choose a theme, take some pictures and send them to each other in the post and include a something little extra for that theme. My package arrived on friday and I was so excited. Our theme this month was 'story' and Jac has taken some amazing shots combining something modern and something older taking some shots of the book Villette by Charlotte Bronte with some Japanese masking tape as well as made a beautiful garland. I had so much fun doing this project and receiving Jac's interpretation, and I'm looking forward to out next little collaboration.

Green Liberty Cushion

I just saw the cushion Rebekah made for her wonderful etsy vintage store and had a little double heart beat! It’s perfect, beautiful liberty fabric and lovely velvet on the back, and did I mention it’s green! If I lived in the US I would want to go thrifting with Rebekah because she can find the most amazing things, and I think she'd be lovely and fun too.

Other items I'm lusting after include the green planter, silver bowl and small wooden box.

Brilliant Mail Day

I had the ultimate mail day yesterday, it was a bit like christmas! I did a swap with the very lovely and sweet Martina of Six Black Dots (wonderful blog!) and she sent me more Cath Kidston goodies than I could imagine. It was so exciting, everything is so pretty!Such a great cheer up after a freezing cold and dull week. Martina is the best!

Oh the picture above is completely unrelated but I did go and see the Crafty exhibition (the program is in the basket) last week, it was really inspiring and there were some great pieces.

Belated Blogiversary

Hi there,

So I mentioned last week that it was little glowing lights second birthday and that I would have a giveaway to celebrate, and here it is! A little belated, due to the fact that it's been too dark all week for me to photograph the little liberty bird I have made to send out! But I would like to thank everyone who reads, leaves lovely comments, and sends me great emails, it is definitely the best part about blogging! This year in particular has been hard for me (the end of my relationship, and serious job issues) it has helped me to have this as an outlet to share the things that I love. So thank you!
