Good Mail

Last week this seriously sweet cloud bread board from Snug Studio arrived in my letterbox. I love it. This year I have been so so good with not buying unnecessary bits and pieces, in fact I think I really have only made purchases of things actually needed, but every now and again I crave something new and possibly a little frivolous. I think this fit the bill perfectly!

Christmas Cheer from Logan Wines

Some christmas cheer arrived a few days early on my doorstep in the form of a box of a dozen bottles from Logan Wines based in Orange in NSW, a place I haven't been to but am now intrigued to visit. I was absolutely floored to receive such a fantastic gift and it all looks so amazing! I know you shouldn’t judge wine on a label and packaging alone (and I have no doubt the wine is fantastic) but this really is quite wonderful. Everything is done to perfection and I love the photographs in the little booklet.

My poor knowledge of wine is something I’ve been wanting to develop for a little while now, especially with the work we do for Island Menu, and to be given such a wide selection means this is the perfect opportunity! I plan on cooking a few special dinners over the summer months to try them out and I’m thinking of starting with the Hannah rosé and perhaps making some nice light homemade pasta with bloody mary mussels…any other good food/wine combination suggestions I can try? All ideas would be most welcome!

Soft and Pale

Liking the soft and pale things around this weekend, that three headed tulip is impressive and I had the most exciting mail day this week (a hint in the top picture) but I'm saving that one for a little while yet.

Good Mail Day

After spending a crap 30 minutes going home on the bus tonight (it should take about ten maximum) and feeling hot and tired I found the new Fog Linen catalogue in my letterbox. So much beautiful goodness inside there. Then I found out that The King of Limbs is out this weekend...wooo I've already ordered my newspaper album. Yes I am a wee bit pathetic but I don't mind it makes me happy!

Good Mail Day

Just exactly what I needed today. I've been umm-ing and arr-ing about ordering one of the Herriott Grace cloud cookie cutters for ages but when the little flags were available too I knew I had no choice. The decision, do I make some shortbread, or some kiss biscuits, or something completely different altogether? Tough choices here : )

Good Mail Day

My copy of Sundays are for Lovers arrived, it is wonderful, so many lovely pictures. I have such a big list of books I'd love to order right now including:

Great British Food from Canteen
Paris Made by Hand
this lovely copy of Jane Eyre
Megan Morton's Home Love and
The Selby Is In Your Place.

Winter feels like the perfect time for ordering books! I'd love to know what's on other people's lists?

Brilliant Mail Day

I had the ultimate mail day yesterday, it was a bit like christmas! I did a swap with the very lovely and sweet Martina of Six Black Dots (wonderful blog!) and she sent me more Cath Kidston goodies than I could imagine. It was so exciting, everything is so pretty!Such a great cheer up after a freezing cold and dull week. Martina is the best!

Very Good Mail Day

I have had an exceptionally good mail day today, receiving a package of beautifully made goods from the very generous and lovely Rebekah. The mittens are gorgeous and I love the green of the felted wool that she has made the tissue cover and cup holder from. Visit her handmade store here and vintage store here (so many wonderful items, she has the best eye for thrifting).

A very good start to the weekend, I hope everyone has a great one too.
