Bespoke Wallpaper

It’s absolutely no secret that I am just a little (ok a lot!) taken by Cath Kidston. Fi very kindly sent me a link to a post on Design Sponge about a new bespoke wallpaper service. Aren't they beautiful!

Also amazingly I found a shop in little old Hobart that actually sells some Green Gate pieces, they were pretty but really quite expensive and definitely not as covetable as Cath Kidston designs at all!

This Weekend

This weekend was all about lunch.
Ausmus (christmas in july) on Saturday with friends, complete with roast turkey, christmas pudding, secret santa and boozy bingo!
Then a family lunch on Sunday, which I made the little fruit and custard tarts above for. It was a completely non-constructive weekend but fun, I just wish I’d taken some pictures!

Domino

I miss Domino magazine, I loved the styling, so different to that in Australia.

Lena Corwin

I love the new designs in Lena Corwin's shop. Actually recently I have been pouring over Printing by Hand for hints and tips, it's such a great book.

This Weekend

Boy monday always comes around so fast!
The weekend was good, I started work on my new project and made some labels, went up the mountain (which was beautiful), made my favourite soup (chicken, corn and chili) and read a bit. It was relaxing, exactly what I needed.

On the mountain

I went up Mt Wellington yesterday and it was icy cold. The snow wasn't snow it was ice, and the sun was melting it so that you could hear the cracking and shattering as it fell to the ground. Very beautiful.

On a Thursday

I’m…

listening to Wilco (loving the track You and I)
curious that the new Jamie Oliver magazine has an article on Tasmania in it (but I can’t find a copy in the newsagents!)
watching the clouds hug the mountain from my office window
planning a new craft project to start work on (which I’m really excited about)
a little sad that Masterchef is so close to the end
so glad tomorrow is Friday and almost the weekend!

Film

Right now I am inspired by film photographs. When my dad lent me his film SLR a (Nikon FA) he said that film photography is like listening to music on vinyl, it has so much more warmth and depth, and I agree completely. I’ve been quite hesitant shooting film but I realise I just have to get in there and have a go, if I fail…. well I can only keep trying!

The above pictures from flickr are beautiful film shots:

Beating the Winter Blues

I realise I took a little bit of an unplanned break last week, it was just so freezing cold, work was busy and by the time I got home at night the couch was calling. So this week it’s all about lovely inspiring things to beat the winter blues!

First up images from the home of Dottie Angel (via sfgirlbybay), it looks so calm and pretty, and how about that cupboard and jars full of doily’s, perfect!

Brilliant Mail Day

I had the ultimate mail day yesterday, it was a bit like christmas! I did a swap with the very lovely and sweet Martina of Six Black Dots (wonderful blog!) and she sent me more Cath Kidston goodies than I could imagine. It was so exciting, everything is so pretty!Such a great cheer up after a freezing cold and dull week. Martina is the best!

This Weekend

It was bleak weather here this last weekend, it seems winter has hit with a vengence. Of course this meant much of it was spent indoors keeping warm while I:

watched Little Miss Sunshine
listened to the new Kasabian album West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum
baked kiss biscuits
shot some film
and made some more little birds.

Bookish

My little cousin is turning six very soon, and I never know quite what to get her. I'm not a fan of plastic toys and while books are generally my staple, this year I thought I would get her a little print for her pink bedroom. Fifi Lapin is perfect, they are so cute! But I can't choose which one, I'm leaning towards bookish.

Top: Bookish, the yellow dress
Bottom: Fox Face, the blue cardigan with red buttons

They remind me of a modern, and very stylish Miffy, I loved Miffy : )

And the winner is....

Thanks to a little help from random.org I'd love to announce that comment number 15 (Kee and Fi) has won the little liberty bird and postcard set! Fi if you send me your details I will get that off to you as soon as possible. Thank you for all your lovely kind comments, it was wonderful to read them, it made me feel all warm and fuzzy : )

Oh the picture above is completely unrelated but I did go and see the Crafty exhibition (the program is in the basket) last week, it was really inspiring and there were some great pieces.
