Les Zigouis

I love these posters from Les Zigouis, I keep coming back to them because they are so cheerful and sweet, I think this one is my particular favourite though.

More ceramic/pottery goodness that I have been admiring of late, these pieces are by Katherine Mahoney found via cloth. They are so beautiful. I think you could say I have a growing love for ceramics!

oh by the way thank you for the comments about my slippers, they are from white noise maker on etsy, perfect for the miserable winter we are having! I thoroughly dislike winter!

Garland

I meant to show my confetti system garland that I used for decorating my birthday dinner, it is seriously so beautiful and I love that it is hand made. I was so tempted to get a pinata but I didn't have anywhere to hang it and the thought of smashing it was too sad. I love this idea here though of hanging it as a decoration...hmmm.

Happy Friday

I've been going back to the 20x200 site regularly over the past few months, they have some really great affordable art. Unfortunately the third pic here has sold out, otherwise it would be a hanging on my wall : )

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

monday

Ahh another monday done and dusted, is it bad to say I am counting them down till christmas? I need the break more than anything, and I don't think the next few weeks are going to slow down!

So I starting doing some searches for places to visit on my trip next year (I know it's still a loooong way off!), which led me to the Tate online store and these prints by Natsko Seki. They are so great, I had to share.

Essimar

Quite a long time ago I ordered a little essimar sol print whose bright colours I love. Then this week I discovered Esther's flickr photostream, so many wonderful cheerful pictures and inspiring ideas, I could heart them all.

Wonder Wonder

Tonight I saw Where The Wild Things Are thanks to a free ticket from triple j, I really enjoyed it although it made me feel a little melancholy. That's not a bad thing, and the wild things were pretty gorgeous!

Plus how lovely are these necklaces from Wonder Wonder, so beautiful.

Bookish

My little cousin is turning six very soon, and I never know quite what to get her. I'm not a fan of plastic toys and while books are generally my staple, this year I thought I would get her a little print for her pink bedroom. Fifi Lapin is perfect, they are so cute! But I can't choose which one, I'm leaning towards bookish.

Top: Bookish, the yellow dress
Bottom: Fox Face, the blue cardigan with red buttons

They remind me of a modern, and very stylish Miffy, I loved Miffy : )

Summer Days

The warm summer days here are making me avoid the computer, there seems to be so many other things to do, walks after dinner, semi-frozen yoghurt to eat, and quilts to piece (coming along very nicely, I will take some pictures this weekend). In the meantime I think I will share a few of my current etsy faves.
Today the new print from Ashleyg. What could be more lovely than big coloured raindrops.

Trees

I would love this new print from Good Shape Design for my lovely boyfriend Rd. I think this print is so perfect for him 'cause you couldn't find a person who loves trees more. Plus it looks pretty cool.

Etsy Love

I've been trawling etsy a lot lately, it's my winter-evening time filler when there's nothing on tv (even though I have the Mighty Boosh dvd lined up to watch).

More Yellow and Black

It's not just more yellow and black it's the black spots again with yellow. You may remember this print I was crazy about, well I get to collect it from the framers tomorrow and I can't wait to see what it looks like finished. But seriously who wouldn't want a spotty cup like that in the bathroom with a wooden toothbrush.

Setting of the Rising Sun

How great is this print from Good Shape Design, I love the yellow and the spots, I have such a thing for black and navy blue spots right now, can't get enough of them!

The title of the print is appropiate too, Setting of the Rising Sun, today we farewelled daylight savings and I seem to have made good use of the extra hour. I have been working away on more memo books and the pile is building, and cooking up a storm making a big lasagne, plum coconut slice for morning tea treats this week, and finally, learning (with the help of my chef brother) to make profiteroles! mmm mmm (........ok I watched while he made)!

Oh and rd if you read this: I LOVE this print, hint hint bithrday coming up!

Wise Old Owl

Hi there,
Is it only tuesday, it feels like it should be thursday already! I am currently loving this print by Kat Heyes, it makes me think of a poem rd always says about a wise old owl...maybe in this case it is a very smart looking younger owl (still wise I am sure).

Thank you for all your lovely comments about Lola (yes she's a burmese), the more time I spend with her the more beautiful she seems. Although she has taken to playing with my hair and trying to eat it, not something I want to encourage, and even Angus is slowly coming around. They truely are such wonderful animals to watch and spend time with.

Hope your week is going well,

Catherine xx

Inspiration Board

A new season called for new pictures on my pin board, lots of light and airy-ness and pinks with some bold reds and animals like horses and deers seems to be my current influences. Artist's Jane Reiseger and Marise Maas I have found particularly inspiring and both similar in a way, I love the space in their work, it's just calling out for a large white room.

And on a slightly different note, this post which I found lovely at this time of year when it is all about shopping (even though I do love my shopping.....very much).

Art Sydney

One of the great things we did while in Sydney was going to see Art Sydney complete with pink carpet and all. I was a little surprised by some of the work being quite traditional and a little more conservative, but some I really loved was quite young and vivacious.

I have to say I was all ready to go buy my first major piece of art, and as much as this was the Sydney afforable art show it was still a little out of my price range for now. There were quite a few pieces of work I loved but the one artist that struck me was Christine Polowyj I think the colours she uses are fantastic, they are so bright and I think the fact that they are faces intrigues me. Maybe next time I will be able to take one home like the many other people there walking out with canvases under their arms, it's such a fantastic idea.
