Interior Love

I think Mandi's home is so lovely and light. She has found some wonderful pieces. I love that little paint by number next to the flock print, and the crochet cushion on the bed is perfect.

Just Enough Light

Hi there,

Finally there is just enough light for picture taking after work! It is still a little dark, but I'm definitely very happy about it. I arrived home to find that my mum had kindly dropped off some lillies, they are wonderfully tall I can't bring myself to cut them just yet, and my little agave seems to like it's new home in the pink pot. Sadly this week I seem to have moved from bad sinus' to bad hayfever, and it's befuddled my poor brain. Hopefully tomorrow I will have a proper post for you. In the meantime I hope you're having a great week!

Rainy Day Cut and Paste

Ugh it's rained and it's rained this weekend (it's even rained inside my hall - no fun!). I've still been a bit unwell so not much excitement for me, but lots of reading in bed and a bit of cut and paste with old mags, I'm starting to think I'd really love my own place that I can paint up and decorate exactly as I want, but that's still a long way off. In the mean-time cutting and pasting is fun!
I hope everyone had a lovely weekend.

Shall We Dance?

I don’t know where this week has gone, the work part of the days have been long and busy and the non-work parts have just flown by, not helped much by miserable sinus headaches that have put me to bed earlier than I like.

Oh well, on to more exciting things, I received an email from third drawer down this morning and rather fell in love with Camilla Engman’s new tea towel design Shall We Dance?. Camilla’s hairy lady currently lives on my fridge, but perhaps it could take turns with a new one.

Bits and Pieces

A few little bits and pieces I wanted to share this Tuesday (I’m not sure where Monday went, but at least it was quick!):

*Lisa Mitchell on Friday night was really good, she is super tiny and cute, I love that she covered Dire Straits Romeo and Juliet, and Neopolitan Dreams was lots of fun.
* a good mail day, some old Australian Journals from a kind friend, which are an interesting read!
*I’ve started crocheting again (badly) I had stopped because it was waaay too pink but I figured I will do a few blue and green coloured squares and mix them in with the pink ones.
*Did you see version 3.0 of Yvonne’s sunroom, it’s gorgeous and also there is a little Milk, Butter & Eggs shopper there! Very exciting for me.
*oh and I met my uncle's new puppy Mabel and she is super gorgeous, I want a little black puppy now!

poppies

I found these gorgeous poppies at the market yesterday and had to shoot them, halfway through the sun came streaming in and they looked incredible, so lovely.

Happy Friday!

I'm hanging out for the rest of the work day to finish, this evening I am off to an exhibition opening of an artist whose work I grew up loving, and later Lisa Mitchell. I'm finding this slightly amusing because I've never watched Australian idol and I only know one of her songs, but my brother has told me she's good so we are going!

Hope you have a lovely Friday and weekend to come

Pretty Quiet

Hi there,

This week has turned out to be a pretty quiet one here at little glowing lights - no project on the go, no must make new dish I’ve never tried before, no lugging the camera around to take pictures and honestly I’m quite enjoying it, I even skipped the gym tonight and walked home in the fresh air instead.

Oh but I have been listening to the new muse album. I had (massively) high expectations but it’s even better than imaged. It’s not very often anymore an album can excite me that much but it’s sooo good when it does.

Hope everyone's having a great week

Spring Stationery

I seriously love stationery, here's my spring wish list:
notebook
writing paper
address file
masking tape
stamp
mug (to put pencils in obviously! I debated whether I would want Whuthering Heights or Jane Eyre, but Jane Eyre won out)
pencils
ruler (I already have one of these actually and it is really great).

What's on your list? I'd love to know.

Sun-day

Yay the sun came out!
I sat on my doorstep in the fresh air reading and listening to Empire of the Sun, made pasta and took a before shot of my old couch, (hopefully it will be white very soon!).

Green

I really love green. Yesterday we went to Peppermint Bay for lunch for my brother's birthday, and after we'd eaten went for a bit of a wander while he went fishing, I found this little deserted cottage and it was so pretty and sooo green.

Sidetracked

I was sidetracked walking to work this morning, and ended up late for a meeting but that’s by the by really because the pink blossom was so pretty against the dreary grey sky, I just had to take a few shots. Listening to old-school new order (Here to Stay) on my ipod, it was one of those moments where I forget everything, so good for a weekday morning.

Toast - Home

More lovely Toast images this time from the Home catalogue, I absolutely love that sock photograph!

Making

Yet another Monday much sooner than I’d like! The weekend was a productive/making one, I love when that happens. Two new cushions (the little blue felt one was definitely inspired by that bag), and a batch of strawberry jam which was such a gorgeous pinky-red while cooking. This was only my third batch of jam and I think my fear of it burning or not setting is diminishing. Naturally I made scones yesterday for father’s day to load up with jam, and since I am very lucky to have two dad’s cheated and bought some of Michelle’s beautiful cupcakes at the market for round two. They were really good!

friday

Happy friday!
This week was a good one, I saw The Young Victoria which I really enjoyed. I'm a complete sucker for a period romance piece, and who knew prince albert was that appealing! I’ve been listening to the new Neil Finn 7 World's Collide album which is sweet, and why is it when you are saving you always find things you just HAVE to have, like this pretty blue bag on etsy (which has already sold!), and lots of new Poppies for Grace stationery - in particular the 2010 desk calendar.

Have a wonderful weekend

Spring

Today it's officially spring and happily the sun came out, although there is too much snow on mountain for my liking! I took these pictures in the park last week, from a distance the trees with the bulbs in rings around them were so pretty but halfway accross the lawn I discovered it was more bog than lawn!
