This weekend

It wasn't cold this weekend at all, even though it rained a lot it was kinda hot, but my pictures for some reason came out a bit wintery-ish.

Happy Friday

So glad it's almost the weekend, my head feels like a lead weight and I'm looking forward to some quality nap time, but also hopefully some time in the sunshine. I need a new book to read, any suggestions? I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

lately:

*I have the flu, or a sinus infection, I'm not sure the doctor didn't say, but it's miserable
*I finally saw Exit Through the Gift Shop, after missing it by a day at the state earlier this year, it was interesting, I'd say I don't like Mr Brainwash...but is it just a set up? Like I said interesting.
*I'm going to have to buy a sweet little cake tin to make a cake for my new green glass stand from Donna Hay.
*Banana spelt muffins are good, really good.
*I think I'd like to learn how to knit socks...but it seems a bit tricky.

Colour

So here is part three of my photo collaboration with Jac. The theme for this round was colour, and I think Jac has taken the most amazing pictures showing this, the soft yellow tones with her fairy lights (which she always does so wonderfully well) and the deep blue with the rain droplets. I love the two of them together. Thanks Jac!

Sydney + Melbourne

I've had this week off work and spent some time in Sydney and Melbourne for a bit of a break, it was great and much needed, ate at some great places (bills, the european and grossi florentino), wandered along oxford street and into woollahra, scored some treasures at Donna Hay and Dinosaur Designs and felt rather overwhelmed by lovely things at Empire Vintage. It's a pity it's over now, but my next trip will be europe at easter!!

A doily tree cosy

I love stumbling across little things like this tree with the doily cosy. I spied it a while ago in my favourite park on one of my lunchtime walks when all the magnolia flowers were out and there were no leaves. So today I went there for a few shots. I wonder who did it? It's brilliant.

Update: Lovely Sarah found the details here. Thanks Sarah!

Unexpected Guest

Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet this week, work has been busy which tends to take up much of my brain space leaving not much left for blogging. However in exciting news I am an unexpected guest over on sfgirlbybay, so I hope you will stop by.

Victoria’s blog was one of the first I ever stumbled across and instantly fell in love with her amazing home and style, so I feel very honoured!

cupcakes and macarons

I went to a new gorgeous cake shop in north hobart called sweet envy on the weekend, apparently it has been there for six weeks already, hmm obviously don't go to north hobart very often! They let me take a picture inside and then I took my goodies home and took a few more shots and shared them for afternoon tea. It's pretty cool to have a little shop like this in town.

Happy Friday

I am so tired tonight, you have no idea. My eyes are struggling to stay open.
I've been making plans tonight for holidays next year, my 30th year (ahhh!), and it's both exciting and a little daunting. It's nice to have something to look forward to.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Lately

Things have been pretty quiet around here, but:
I did preserve some lemons, I can't wait to see how they turn out and try them in some dishes;
I've been playing sticks with Angus in the sunshine; and
enjoying the wonderfulness that is Orla and her patterns.

What have you been up to lately, I'd love to hear : )

Hello October

You seem to have arrived so quickly. Daylight savings starts on sunday, not only can I not wait, I can not work out if clocks go back or forwards! (it's forwards right?)

I thought I'd share some pictures of the little felt garland I made, no idea what I'll use it for but I loved the colours together too much not to give it a try!
