A Girl Can Dream

You know sometimes when you just instantly fall in love with something, it's just so perfect and so right and makes you feel happy and inspired. Well that is how I feel about this house. It was in Vogue Living in January/February this year, and I am still so drawn in and desperate to live in that house, or if not my own that is pretty much exactly the same! I love the paintings, the rug, the ikea cupboards, the white floor, the lampshade, yes pretty much everything. This would certainly feel like home for me.

Pretty Pink

Hi there,

I started a new project this week, a little felt cosy for my ipod. I made one earlier this year a bit similar, but decided it was time for a new colour. Pink! Bright and cheerful for this time of year. My sewing leaves a lot to be desired, it's kinda frustrating for me, lots of grand ideas but completely lacking the skills to pull it off. I did enjoy making it very much and sat and watched Marie Antoinette at the same time, although perhaps it wasn't the best choice as it's such a beautiful visual film, maybe that's why my stitching is so bad (and why I choose pink)... a good excuse anyway!
I have also done a few designs for a possible gocco print, but after a few expensive failed attempts I want it to be right before I get to the printing stage.
Oh and I have a little question for my blogging friends, I am looking into purchasing a new camera, I really don't have much idea, what do you use? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hope the week is going well,
Catherine x

Origami Reindeer

I stumbled across this website today and thought these bone china origami animals are so gorgeous. I haven't seen anything quite like them before, such a brilliant idea. I love origami but my skills don't extend beyond a paper crane, at least a china one would last forever. I am crazy about the reindeer, I wish they could be purchased online...sigh...

This weekend

Hi there,
I have been a little quiet this week, just trying to adjust to my new job. I have missed blogging and feel a bit determined to make sure that I save some time for blogging and doing some serious crafting. This weekend however I am taking it easy and chilling out, we had a few quiet drinks with friends on friday night and yesterday spent a lot of time sitting in the sun listening to music, it doesn't get much better than that I have to say. I have received two of my cd swaps and it's really exciting to listen to something totally new and different. For some reason I feel far more inclined to listen to music now the weather is lighter and warmer, I felt really quiet this winter.
The picture above is of the Tord Boontje card Clara sent me, the other goodies can be seen here.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend

Working Week

Hello there,

Just a quick post tonight because I am a little tired. My job seems to be pretty good, but a bit daunting as there is so much to learn, it feels like it's been a week already. My Back2School swap goodies from Clara arrived today which was a wonderful surprise, thank you so much Clara! It included some great stationary like pens, and clips, some ribbon, and a card which is a fantastic pull apart with Tord Boontje cut outs, very cool. I will try to take some photo's to show as soon as I can. Clara your parcel is on the way so I hope it arrives soon.
I have just realised that I think my swallow broach in the above picture may be upside down....mmm...anyway it is one of my faves from Elk Accessories, they have some lovely things.
Hope everyone's having a great week.

September = Spring + A little Football

Hello there,
Yay it's officially sping now! September means a few things for me this year, starting my new job on monday (wow I am so anxious about that!), being able to get out in the fresh air a lot more (hopefully lots of bike rides) and for some of us, the football finals (AFL of course) . I am not a huge sports person, but I will watch the occasional game on tv, I've given up completely on my team (last on the ladder, poor Tigers).

Yesterday we went with a big group of friends to support another friend play his 100th game (the grand final) for Swansea. It wasn't really much of a spring day, but it didn't matter. It was a great atmosphere and there was quite a big crowd. I have never been to a country football game before so it was an experience, when a goal is kicked everone beeps their car horns, that was kinda cool. It was fun to have a beer and a laugh and cheer them on.
There was the most amazing light on the hills on the way back, I haven't seen the countryside quite so green either, it was quite spectacular.

We ended the day with dinner with my dad and step-mother for father's day (which is today) and that was great too, we ate at my japanese tea house mmm so yum!

Spring you are most welcome if we are going to have weekends like this.
Wish me luck for monday, I think I need it.

Hope everyone's having a great weekend out there.
