I got stuck in the reject shop looking at the $6 noticeboards and decided I could use one in my kitchen, then it was painted pink (as part of my pink phase), and within days there’s no room left. It was fun to put together, I’m not sure how long it will stay pink, I’m trying to de-cutesify my house right now. It’s a little bit much even for me : )

I seem to be surrounded by pink this week. I found some amazing lolly pink dahlia's at this little shop in town called the Flower Room run by a lovely bunch of older ladies (they also sell fresh eggs, cakes, biscuits, plants and knitted goods, it's very sweet), my granny squares are well and truely pink and then arriving in the mail today (and a most welcome cheer me up) was a set of cupcake recipe cards from a very kind Bethany.
I found these goodies by Happy via Decor 8 and knew I had to post them here so I wouldn't forget about them. Those green glasses/cups remind me of dinosaur designs and I'm not sure what I'd use the pretty coloured dots for, but somehow they are a must have item.

I've been keeping busy:
* went to see Easy Virtue, it was good but maybe not as funny as the cackling grannies at the cinema thought it was : )
* went to a book launch
* went to see one of my all time favourite musicians, Jeff Martin, with the voice that floors me everytime
*went out for brunch with my dad to my new favourite little cafe Pigeon Hole
* went to the mothers market and saw the lovely Michelle and bought some of her cupcakes (very yum), got some tomato relish and enjoyed taking a look around
* went to salamanca market and saw a perfect milk glass hobnail vase for only $15 then proceeded to wander off and forget completely about it (don't worry I'm going back next weekend with fingers crossed that it's still there)
* went for several walks
* baked a pavlova and a roast chicken and had my parents around for dinner
* made some more granny squares
now it's monday I feel beat!

This is my all time favourite kitchen, I saw it in a magazine a while ago and cut it out and pasted it into my notebook. Finally I have come across a digital image and had to share. The paper bird garlands make me smile they are so colorful. The light is wonderful too.

I'm very excited to share my Store update, I have added some new picture postcards of a few photographs I have taken more recently, and a few slightly older ones. They are printed on good quality glossy stock and come in sets of four. I'd love it if you went to check them out.
I hope everyone's having a wonderful weekend.

Pictures from this week: broccoli soup for dinner, purchases for autumn (what else is a newly single girl to do to ease a sad heart), and a progress update on the crochet front (yep it's gonna be pink, I couldn't help myself. Even though I'd really love a gorgeous dove grey one....).

I've been cooped up in a project management course all day today (still two days to go, ugh!), I find it hard sitting still for so long and had to go for a massive walk this evening, which was cause nice, it's one of those evenings where everything is calm and you feel that pull to stay outside until it's completely dark.
So my second attempt at crochet is turning out rather nicely, I've amazed myself, four granny squares are complete and I hope to do another tonight. I must have this strange need to make blankets, my quilt is at the stage where I can put the backing on and pull it together and before it's done I'm starting a granny square blanket. Perhaps it is an unconscious preparation for winter? I'm not ready for that just yet!
Oh and lastly I am hoping there will be a little update to my etsy store this weekend, I'm feeling excited about it so stay tuned.
I hope your having an enjoyable tuesday!

I've been in a bit of a fuzzy haze, I'm still adjusting to changes in my life, it's been hard. No matter what I do my mind is elsewhere, so I went with it this weekend and had lots of quiet time:
* learning to crochet again,
* downloading and listening to the entire Joe Stummer London Calling radio show, his music selections are amazing from Van the man, the Stones, Hendrix, Dylan,underworld, nina simone, and so much music from Africa, Columbia, India.. you name it it's in there. (I feel I have undergone a musical revelation in one weekend)
* choc royale biscuits for afternoon tea, marshmallow-y goodness,
* visiting this lovely little market
and listening to rain and thunderstorms.

(well one of them, I suspect I have many! ) is rearranging my hall. I was completely happy with it as it was, but when I saw the antique wooden ironing board with the top painted such a wonderful blue here, it had to come home with me. Hence the rearranging…again. I like the way the blue makes the milk glass compote stand out.
By the way please try to ignore the rather scungy barge boards, being a rental there’s not much I can do about it and it’s a rather old house.

Every morning I walk to work, that short 25 minutes of my day is something I don’t think I could do without. It’s my time to wake up, listen to music and enjoy being out in the fresh air, to ready myself before a day at my desk (thrilling I know!). The last week or so this has been even more enjoyable, someone in my street has planted sunflowers all the way up the nature strip. It’s a wonderful sight, some are in flower some are still tightly closed, they are all in rows and they make me smile. Whoever planted them must be a genius!

I realise I am showing a picture of my bed following a picture of my pj's! This weekend wasn't all about sleeping however, I did spend some time in the sunshine reading, had dinner with friends and made some raspberry cakes.
I wanted to post this picture because it shows the gorgeous pillow cases my very talented Mum made for me. I bought the Cath Kidston fabric ages ago and wanted to use it for something special and so we picked out some pink gingham and used cream calico for the sides and backs and my Mum put them together in a day. I'm impressed, they are beautifully made and something special to me.

We are headed into another long weekend and I plan to take it very easy, spend some quality time in my pj's : ) I thought I'd share some links of my favourite things right now:
* Wonderful winter poster set
* Definitely on the top of my shopping list - henrietta clutch
* New stationary to covet
* placemats - well they are just so gorgeous!
Have a great weekend

Hello March! I'm not sure if this means it is now officially autumn or not, but I am definitely starting to think about cooler weather, cosy slippers, and soup! I think this is a bit reflective of my need to have a bit of hibernation time, to think about life right now and what it means. But on the lighter side I really love a few of the new items from French Connection, these blouses are so sweet hmm mr postman might be having to stop by my house soon.
