Bruny Island

I spent today with some friends on Bruny Island, it was really nice, some sunshine and fresh air. (Some pics by my friend Rose).

Some pictures from this week:
*red scarf progress
*blossom: although I think this week is the coldest it’s been all winter!! Well it sure feels that way.
*birthday presents for my mum, I had every intention of using the little flags on her cake but ran out of time : (

oh yeah and I've been listening to the new Klaxons...it's good but I think it might need a few more listens.

Photo Collaboration

I am excited today to post about part two of my photo collaboration with Jac. You might remember we have a project going where we select a word and take some photographs to send each other reflecting that theme. Well this time around Jac selected the word ‘harmony’ and has sent me some incredibly lovely shots of her old tea cup and a daisy from her garden, and in her card explained that for her harmony is a combination of old and new. I think I'd have to agree with that! She also sent a cd with some old and new music that I plan on having a proper listen to tonight. I really love these photographs, they are lovely so I hope you enjoy them too!

This Weekend...

I started knitting a new scarf, this time a bright red one. I'm not sure why, I've never really liked red, but I want to finish this one quickly so I can wear it.

Good Mail Day

Just exactly what I needed today. I've been umm-ing and arr-ing about ordering one of the Herriott Grace cloud cookie cutters for ages but when the little flags were available too I knew I had no choice. The decision, do I make some shortbread, or some kiss biscuits, or something completely different altogether? Tough choices here : )

Confetti

At the moment I have a funny thing for confetti, I think it is the colours. Expect to see a few more shots over the next few weeks.

Today I felt stuck, like I need to do something different, be somewhere different. I'm not sure what or where. It's a frustrating feeling. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Cath Kidston's Home

Cath Kidston's home via Lonny mag. I like, I like that it's different to her shops, but still the same. I have a cold at the moment so I'm laying low, listening to the National and watching Sigur Ros' Heima dvd.

Rainy Day

It started raining when I got home from work last night and hasn't stopped since, it's made for a long day, but actually I quite like it, it feels cosy. The White House at Daylesford looks like the perfect place to spend a rainy day. So lovely.

bowls

I have a thing for bowls, I know this because I came out of country road the other day with three completely different bowls that I quite possibly did not need, to add to a cupboard already full of them. Oh well I'm going to put these mud ones on my wish list anyway, because the colours are lovely.

This Weekend

I somewhat reluctantly went back to work today, it does feel like I have had a break though and that is a good thing I think. Oh and the sun was out all day, it feels like spring, even the blossom is starting to come out already, I’m itching to take pictures.

The weekend went by in a blur, but I took a few quick shots:
Melbourne goodies and my knitting
New orla pillowcases
Strawberries

Exceeding (very) High Expectations

So you know sometimes you have high expectations of how something might be, well that's how I felt about Jonsi but the reality was so so much more amazing than I could ever have imagined! I can't really describe it other than that voice and those sounds make me so happy.

The rest of my quick little melbourne trip was good, I caught the tourist bus to chadstones and shopped till I was exhausted. Waiting for the bus in the city, I had a quick look in Hosier Lane (along with so many school students!) and yesterday took it quite easy just wandering in the city. I stupidly didn't visit Gorman until the end of my time and saw about five pairs of shoes that I loved. Typical!

Now it's friday and my little break is almost over, I feel quite sad about that.

Jonsi

I have a very early flight tomorrow, in fact the alarm is set for 4:20am (...ugh...) but I'm actually very excited because I'm off to melbourne with my brother to see Jonsi play. Way back when, we went halves in sigur ros' ( ) album (when we were poor students and you had to buy cd's) and have loved them ever since. Reading this review from Splendor over the weekend, I don't think we will be disappointed with Jonsi solo. Oh and he wears a feather headdress....so fantastic!

Some shopping will be done too!

Pictures from here.

Today

I had that strange feeling of being home in the middle of a work day today, like I should be in bed sick or something rather than out and about. I went to the local recycle shop hoping to stumble upon some hidden gem but had no luck at all. Then I entertained my mum's cats this afternoon, I think I enjoy this playing as much as they do. All in all holidays are good!

This weekend

This weekend:
*I've been listening to The XX, so great.
*Sewing some coasters from my Japanese check linen and eating humbugs my nanna bought me from Soverign Hill
*Cooking birthday cakes and prawn and pork wontons (neil perry style, seriously good!)
*Loving the winter hellebores on my table (even though they have dropped bits everywhere!)

...and finally I am on holidays this week, my first since christmas, so expect to see a few more posts this week.

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend too!
