Waiting for the Quiet

See the little carved deer in the picture, well he is happily sitting on my hall table admiring the pink ruffled prettiness of the peony. He's a lucky deer, and getting to do something I wouldn't mind myself, some quiet, thinking, and relaxing time. I keep wondering when life is going to settle down, at least for a week, but I have a feeling it's just around the corner. Along with fulfilling some crafty ideas. Fingers crossed.....

Walking on a Dream

This weekend I completely fell in love with this song. Well I saw the film clip last weekend, and it's been a rapid build up to love and now I am completely smitten. I can't wait for the album to come out, it's so exciting these days when you hear something new that gives you that tingle.

Hi there,

Well I’m feeling pretty beat already this week. The lurgy is lingering and it is extremely frustrating…surely nearly three weeks is a bit extreme Mister Lurgy!

I’ve tried to take it easy but there’s just too much to do, lots of dinner plans this week, observing the day that is Grand Final Day on Saturday, and planning a short trip away in a month or so, also some photographing for this competition I entered as a bit of fun. The box has arrived now I just need some time to think about my shots. It’s tricky...but I like a challenge.

Spring Mix

Today is my last day home from work after coming down with this terrible lurgy, yay! Since I'm on the mend I had a rather pleasant day, making pumkin and carrot soup, and trawling itunes making a spring mix. Then I took myself off on a walk around the neighbourhood in the sunshine to have a listen. I have to say I'm pretty pleased with it, and felt pretty cheered up, I love how music can do that.

My Spring Mix:
White Noise - The Living End
Blue Song - Mint Royale
I like You So Much Better When You're Naked - Ida Maria
Cape Cod Kwassa KwassaVampire Weekend
It's Alright - Little Red
How Long Do I Have to Wait for You? - Sharon Jones
The Devil Called Me A Liar - Ash Grunwald
This Heart Attack - Faker
Always Where I Need To Be - The Kooks

Coveting

Thank you for all your well wishes, I am still home resting but feeling much better. I thought I'd cheer myself up by creating a little list of things I'm coveting right now:

Diary - I love new diaries, is it a little early to be thinking about them just yet?
Tray - it's the birch trees that wins me, and that bright green.
Purse - I love all the designs here.
Chocolate fish - so cute and I really feel like a little bit of chocolate!
SLR - actually going to be mine as soon as I can leave the house!
Top - love the graphic print on this.

What are you coveting right now? I'd love to hear.

Poor Me (or I hate the Lurgy!)

Not even pretty spring bulbs can cheer me up much at the moment. I have the dreaded lurgy (well it was until it morphed into a chest infection with hideous cough, YUK), four days off work, two trips to the doctor, one sick boyfriend, one party and one concert missed......so sad. Surely the end is near!

Thanks for listening I just needed a moan.

Trees

I would love this new print from Good Shape Design for my lovely boyfriend Rd. I think this print is so perfect for him 'cause you couldn't find a person who loves trees more. Plus it looks pretty cool.

Stories

I think these new Popular Penguins are fantastic and love that there are a few new and modern titles in the mix. Ever since I moved into my little flat I’ve been feeling the need to curl up with a good book, but with them being so expensive these days, and only limited time I’ve read four this year…. absolutely woeful! So my plan is to pick up a few Penguins, High Fidelity, Love in a Cold Climate, and Breakfast at Tiffanys and get re-acquainted with that fantastic feeling of being lost to new (and loved) stories. If you have any other suggestions on what to read I’d love to hear them.

I Wish

I wish I was in this picture, sitting on a beautiful beach under a glowing warm sun gazing out onto the brilliant turquoise horizon! I wish... instead this week I've been so absorbed by work, I haven't had much time to think about anything else. I promise to be a better blogger, but for now I wish you a wonderful weekend!
