Good Mail Day

I had a lovely mail day today, the Around Fog Linen book arrived in my little letterbox. It's full of the most gorgeous images and wares.

Little Things

Today:
*I like the way the yellow tulips brighten my mantlepiece
*I’ve listened to The Mall and Misery by Broken Bells at least five times, I think it’s my favourite from the album
*I spent half my lunch hour in the line at spotlight, no fun on a perfect blue-sky day
*I feel like taking a holiday somewhere new and exciting

I'm in need of some home inspiration and I love these images from Anna Kern.

This weekend

Hi there,

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I had so much fun at the wedding, I have been friends with the bride since we were five and it was so wonderful for her to have such a special day and to be there to celebrate. I didn't really take any digital pictures over the weekend, mostly trying out the instax and I'm pleased with the results. The one of the bunch of roses is my favourite, but also the wedding party on the beach. I need some serious catch up sleep now!

Happy Friday

Happy Friday!
This week has vanished before my eyes, I seem to have lost track of blogging altogether. I hope everyone has lovely plans for the weekend? I am off to a friend’s wedding on Bruny Island, fingers crossed the weather will be decent, I think it’s going to be good fun!

PS I made the heart paper chain above for wrapping the gift, I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.

Saturday

The sun came out and I had homemade chunky strawberry jam on my toast while reading my new Real Living mag. Then later I made 10 metres of fabric bunting and listened to the new Broken Bells album (really, really great). Oh yeah and I got lots of tulips from the market....a good saturday.

Flower Garlands

Well it's so close to friday and the weekend and I can't say I'm not pleased, I had a cranking headache yesterday and I'm feeling a bit worn out. To cheer myself up I went with a friend to see Alice in Wonderland tonight and absolutely loved it, and garlands are always cheerful, the ones above are from Pretty Swell. So sweet!

Green Liberty Cushion

I just saw the cushion Rebekah made for her wonderful etsy vintage store and had a little double heart beat! It’s perfect, beautiful liberty fabric and lovely velvet on the back, and did I mention it’s green! If I lived in the US I would want to go thrifting with Rebekah because she can find the most amazing things, and I think she'd be lovely and fun too.

Other items I'm lusting after include the green planter, silver bowl and small wooden box.

Grey

Lots of grey around at the moment, it's been so hot and humid, but there are little bits of colour. I just had a long weekend and did absolutely nothing worth writing about, just lots of sleeping, watching old episodes of Sex and the City and washing. It was relaxing if nothing else.

Toast Home

As always beautiful homewares from Toast, how they manage to even make items like brooms look appealing is a mystery. I love those blankets in the first picture.

I wish I had the sense to get some of their beautiful woollen socks towards the end of last year, buying out of season requires a lot of thoughtful planning.

Tagged

I have been tagged by the kind and lovely Amanda to share seven things about me, so here they are:

1. I collect ribbon and tissue paper, I guess ribbon is quite normal but there's something about the colours of tissue paper that I love. I think it started from buying bits from dinosaur designs, all the paper they wrap purchases in matches the pieces you buy. I'm a sucker for colour.

2. Stripe tops – I have a definite thing for stripe tops at the moment, at last count I may have had seven… anyway I have been looking for the ‘one’ and last week took the plunge and ordered a Saint James one (you know the one Audrey Tautou in Coco Avant Chanel), I’m hoping this will end the search and my obsession.

3. I walk to work every morning and need this 25 minute one-on-one time with my ipod and the fresh air to wake up. If it’s raining or frosty and I have to catch the bus it feels like a part of my day is missing and end up a little cranky.

4. I’m clumsy, if you can drop it, bang into it or trip on it I will. It’s very frustrating, I’m completely uncoordinated.

5. I wish I had a cat of my own, I love house sitting for my parents when I get to spend time with Angus and Lola, they are such lovely beasts especially when they sneak onto my bed at night and moaw at me for a cuddle. It's one of my favourite things.

6. I watch the Mighty Boosh a lot, I love that everytime you get something a little different from it and it always makes me laugh, so does the IT Crowd.

7. I’m going through a stage where I want to change the style of my house a bit, but don’t know what I want or what I want to change. I’m stuck, but it’s interesting.

I’m passing the tag onto my new-to-blogging cousin Amelia, my real life friend Amanda, and anyone else who may like to join in.

Essimar

Quite a long time ago I ordered a little essimar sol print whose bright colours I love. Then this week I discovered Esther's flickr photostream, so many wonderful cheerful pictures and inspiring ideas, I could heart them all.

Instax

Another Monday has rolled around again, this time bringing autumn with it, hmm I’m really not ready for summer to be over just yet!

So I managed to get a few decent shots from my instax over the weekend, some better than others, it was fun. I think with a little more experimenting it will be good. Of course I had to take a few pictures of the macarons I was given, they were pretty yum!

I hope you had a lovely weekend too.
